I have somewhat of an obsession with Calochortus species. There are several in the state of Oregon, so I’ve made it my mission to try to spot as many this year as possible. Some of these posas (short for mariposa lilies) are rare and/or endangered, residing out in eastern OR, with very limited flowering windows (sometimes only 1-2 weeks) that vary year-to-year. So far I’ve spotted (from most recent to least):
